Financial and Other Assistance for People Living with HIV/AIDS

Finances can be a major concern for people living with HIV/AIDS, particularly for those with no health insurance. Help is available! To find out where, HIV Positive Magazine recommends contacting the nearest AIDS Service Organization:

“If you’ve just been diagnosed with HIV, the best financial advice we can give you is to visit your nearest ASO (AIDS Service Organization), introduce yourself, and ask for help… Your local ASO may be able to hook you up with everything from primary health care and medications to housing, drug or alcohol treatment, transportation, psychological counseling, and legal representation. They know of benefits you may be entitled to that you’ve never even heard of. And the services an ASO program provides are almost always free-of-charge.”
